Hi, where do you currently reside?
We live in Las Vegas.

What's it like to have a CD out and in your view the current state of the music industry for independent artists?
We are very proud of the Antehero debut CD.  The current music scene is tough, but we are warriors, so we will keep pushing.

Tell us a little bit about your band.
Antehero is Orange County's fastest rising original band.  Drawing on Progressive Rock and Alternative Rock influences, Antehero fuses soulful vocals with sophisticated arrangements to create a sound that is contemporary, yet captures the spirit of earlier Renaissance periods of Rock music.

The band is led by the songwriting team of Paul Gayou (vocals) and Vinay (guitar) joined by the powerhouse duo of Bruce Mayer (bass and keyboards) and Rob Warren (drums).  Their live shows are characterized by a tapestry of songs with concept-album like lyrics delivered with dynamic stage performances against a backdrop of short films and psychedelic imagery.  Antehero is an ambitious band that strives to bring together all the elements of a major concert production to the personal level of the audience.

How do you promote yourselves?
We promote on Youtube and Facebook.  We also believe in playing at least once a month to help promote as well.

How long have you been playing?
We have all been playing since we were teenagers.  That's about 25 to 30 years for all of us.

What musicians influenced you band?
Our influences range from Prog bands like Pink Floyd, King Crimson and Rush to Grunge acts and Classical to other styles outside of rock.

What's it like to gig?
We love playing shows (especially in California).  We are currently working on a Pacific Northwest tour for next Summer and Fall.

Our gear is amazing.

What advice would you give a newbie musician?
Don't listen to anything that came out after 1978.

What has been one of your accomplishments as musicians?
We all have numerous musical accomplishments.  Being a part of Antehero is our greatest accomplishments thus far in music.  That is until the movie comes out.
